Nancy Pelosi Says 'Hold My Beer' to Kamala, Newsom in Response to LA Riots

Former Speaker of the House (D-CA) Nancy Pelosi might as well have told Kamala Harris and California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, "hold my beer" in her bizarre response to the anti-ICE raids in Los Angeles over the weekend.

In her statement on Monday, the San Francisco congresswoman blamed President Donald Trump for the "escalation" of violence in LA, not the radical leftists who attacked law enforcement, shut down the freeway, and burned cars.

Pelosi claimed the riots were "peaceful demonstrations" and accused Trump of committing "unlawful tactics" after the president called in the National Guard to help the police who were under attack.

"This is a hallmark of authoritarianism on the road to tyranny – and all Americans should be shocked and appalled by the President’s blatant disregard for our Constitutional system."

"The ongoing arrests in California of families and children obeying the law are evidence of a broader pattern of ICE's renegade behavior across the country," Pelosi's statement read. "The resulting peaceful demonstrations against these actions are a manifestation of understandable fear in our communities.

"Now we have seen the President of the United States say that he would arrest a sitting American governor just for disagreeing with the actions of this Administration," she added. "This is the hallmark of authoritarianism on the road to tyranny – and all Americans should be shocked and appalled by the President's blatant disregard for our Constitutional system.

"The Trump Administration's escalation and provocation inflames tensions and incites violence," Pelosi continued. "All Americans must be able to exercise their Constitutional right to lawfully and peacefully protest. We must shine a bright light on the unlawful tactics of the Trump Administration so that freedom of speech prevails."

Despite Pelosi's comments, Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell blew up the Democratic narrative about the "peaceful protests," RedState reported.

"We are overwhelmed … There is no limit to what they are doing to our officers," McDonnell said. "And again, as I mentioned in my statement, I can't thank our folks enough and our partner agency police officials for going out there and taking care of the community."

When pressed by the media if the National Guard was really needed, McDonnell didn't hesitate and said, of the riots, "This thing has gotten out of control."

He then called out the radical leftists causing the violence, who he said were causing "one civil unrest situation to another. Using similar tactics frequently, and they are connected."

Pelosi’s comments prove once again how out of touch she is, following similar comments from former Vice President Kamala Harris and Newsom, who also tried to blame Trump for the violence in the city, RedState reported.

In Harris' statement, she refused to call out rioters, instead referring to the uprising as "what's unfolding in Los Angeles," according to RedState

Los Angeles is my home. And like so many Americans, I am appalled at what we are witnessing on the streets of our city. Deploying the National Guard is a dangerous escalation meant to promote chaos. In addition to the recent ICE raids in Southern California and across our nation, it is part of the Trump Administration's cruel, calculated agenda to spread panic and division.

This Administration's actions are not about public safety – they're about stoking fear. Fear of a community demanding dignity and due process.

Protest is a powerful tool – essential in the fight for justice. And as the LAPD, Mayor, and Governor have noted, demonstrations in defense of our immigrant neighbors have been overwhelmingly peaceful.

Meanwhile, the feckless leader of the state, Newsom, whined that Trump sending in the Guard was a kind of government takeover.

The Governor wrote that:

Editor's Note: President Trump isn't going to allow lawlessness to reign in America. We will not have a repeat of 2020's "Summer of Love."
